A Very Quaffable Chablis

Friends invited me to dinner as they really wanted me to taste this wine.  They had been recommended it by a sommelier in a restaurant, tasted it and promptly bought a few bottles after they got home.

This wine was redolent of pear, yellow apple, green apple, white florals and lemon.  As expected from a Chablis, it had a firm acidic line – supporting the wine but not sticking out.  It had a surprisingly round and smooth mouthfeel for a Chablis with white blossom and a touch of honeysuckle coming through.  Well balanced with a long finish of sweet lemon.  Smooth and very quaffable.

Would pair nicely with pork, chicken and veal dishes, especially those with using a lot of green herbs, as well as seafood.

This is what life is about – good friends, good food and drinking good wine!
